Leadership is a process of
influencing the behavior of people to accomplish an objective and directs the
organization in a way that makes it more organized and logical. Leadership is a process whereby
an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.
A leader should have the ability
to maintain good interpersonal relations with the followers or subordinates and
motivate them to help in achieving the organizational objectives. They set direction, build an
inspiring vision, and create something new. They are the person in the group
that possesses the combination of personality and leadership skills to make others want to follow their
direction.
According to me, Leadership is both a research
area and a practical skill encompassing the ability of an individual or organization to "lead" or guide other individuals.
It is also defined as the capacity to influence
a group towards the realization of a goal. Leaders are required to develop
future visions, and to motivate the organizational members to want to achieve
the visions.
